Climb Go Where

Huu Lung

Huu Lung, in Lang Son province about two hours from Hanoi, is northern Vietnam's main inland sport climbing area, with limestone cliffs above the rice fields around Yen Thinh village. Climb Go Where lists one guide service here: VietClimb Huu Lung Climbing Trips, run by the team that has developed the area since 2012.

A two-day weekend group trip costs 3,300,000 VND, with guided top rope and lead climbing. VietClimb hires out gear, and a VietClimb bouldering gym in Tay Ho, Hanoi is listed too, which is handy for training between trips.

The best climbing conditions are usually in autumn and spring. Summer is hot and humid with heavy rain, and winter can be cold and grey. Bring insect repellent, sun protection and plenty of water for long days at the crag.
