Climb Go Where

Vietnam

Vietnam has 10 climbing venues on Climb Go Where. Hanoi has four bouldering gyms: VietClimb and Beefy Boulders in Tay Ho, Beefy Boulders My Dinh and Hanoi Climbing Hub in Long Bien. Ho Chi Minh City has three rope gyms, Vertical District, Crescent Wall in District 7 and Skywalk Climbing, and Da Nang has Danang Climbing Gym in Hai Chau.

The north also has well-known limestone crags. Huu Lung, about two hours from Hanoi, has bolted sport routes, and VietClimb runs two-day group trips there. On Cat Ba island, Cat Ba Climbing offers sport and multi-pitch climbing plus deep water soloing in Lan Ha Bay, with half-day deep water solo trips from 1,150,000 VND.

Gym day passes are good value, from 160,000 VND at Hanoi Climbing Hub to 280,000 VND at Vertical District. Northern Vietnam has a cool winter and a hot, wet summer, so autumn and spring are usually the most comfortable times for outdoor climbing. Most gyms hire out shoes, and Hanoi Climbing Hub, VietClimb and Skywalk Climbing run kids' sessions. For Huu Lung and Cat Ba, book a guided trip unless you have your own rack and experience of outdoor sport climbing.
