Monk Climbing Gym is a bouldering gym on Jalan Raya Andong in Peliatan, just outside central Ubud. Entry prices include climbing shoes and chalk, and the gym has free wifi and parking for cars and motorbikes. Adult day passes are IDR 170,000, with discounted single entries for KITAS and KTP holders, multi-passes and monthly memberships, plus cheaper child rates.

First-timers can book a one-off Intro to Bouldering class (IDR 300,000), and there are multi-session basic, intermediate and advanced courses for those who want structured coaching.

Monk also runs outdoor trips: a full-day rock-climbing outing to the cliffs inside the Mt Batur caldera at Kintamani (more than 40 routes) with a hot-spring visit, as well as overnight climbing and camping packages, Batur summit hikes and canyoning.

Weekend afternoons are busiest. First visit? Allow time for the safety briefing.
