double8 岩究所

double8's 岩究所 is a climbing gym and gear shop in a narrow, high-ceilinged shophouse on historic Dihua Street in Dadaocheng. Its main focus is top-rope climbing, with lead routes up to about 12m and a bouldering area as well.

The gym runs beginner climbing experiences (top rope or bouldering), belay courses, lead courses and children's activities, and the shop sells climbing shoes, gear and training equipment. Book an experience session if you have no belay certification; certified climbers can use the walls independently.

A characterful spot to try roped climbing in old Taipei, easily combined with a visit to Dadaocheng.
