Cat Ba Climbing has run rock climbing and deep water solo (DWS) trips on Cat Ba Island for more than ten years. Its office and climbers' accommodation, Kingfisher Nest, are on Nui Ngoc street in Cat Ba town. Tours include travel insurance.

Half-day options include DWS (1,150,000 VND, routes graded 4+ to 7c+) and top-rope or lead climbing at Tiger Beach (1,300,000 VND, routes 5c–7b). A full day of rock climbing on the main island, at Buddha Cave and Fisher Valley, is 2,585,000 VND, and there is a full-day multi-pitch trip at Tiger Beach. Day trips from Hanoi and Ha Long include transport.

DWS depends on the tide. The company says its 'Sea Face' cliff can still be climbed safely at lower water.

Weekend afternoons are busiest. First visit? Allow time for the safety briefing.
