Johor Bahru has one climbing gym on Climb Go Where: Camp5 Paradigm JB, on Level 7 of Paradigm Mall in Skudai. It covers around 2,000 sqm, with walls up to 15m for top rope and lead climbing, auto-belays, a bouldering area and a café.

An adult day pass is RM42 off-peak and RM56 at peak times. Camp5 runs intro classes and hires out gear, so first-timers can turn up without their own shoes or harness. The auto-belays let you climb on ropes without a partner.

Climbers crossing from Singapore should allow for traffic at the Causeway and Second Link, especially at weekends. Off-peak weekday sessions are cheaper and usually quieter. If you want to lead or belay a partner, expect a belay check first.
