Phuket has one climbing gym on Climb Go Where: REBEL Rock Climbing in Thalang, beside a lake in the north of the island. It has more than 700 m² of walls with lead and top rope climbing, auto-belays, a bouldering area with a Kilter board, and a café.

A bouldering-only day pass costs ฿490, or ฿590 for full climbing access including the rope walls. REBEL runs intro classes and hires out gear, so you can visit without your own shoes or harness. The auto-belays are a good option if you are climbing on your own.

The gym is a useful plan in the rainy season from around May to October, when beach days can be washed out. Thalang is closer to the airport than to Patong or the southern beaches, so allow for travel time.
