Progression Vertical is the indoor gym run by Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures (CMRCA) in Pa Daet, south of the old city. It offers lead and top-rope climbing, an updated bouldering area and a free-standing boulder. There are also high-ropes elements and caving, SRT (single rope technique) and rope-rescue training. On site are ample parking, a children's playground, a restaurant and a coffee shop.
An adult day pass costs ฿250 (juniors aged 10–17 ฿200), with 10-visit, one-month and three-month passes also available. Gear hire is cheap: shoes ฿50, harness ฿50, Grigri ฿100. Memberships start at ฿1,500 a month. Indoor beginner and intermediate courses are offered, along with youth programmes, camps and birthday parties.
It's also the meeting point for CMRCA's outdoor trips to Crazy Horse Buttress, so it suits visitors combining gym sessions with days on real rock.
Weekend afternoons are busiest. First visit? Allow time for the safety briefing.
