Vertical District, formerly Vertical Academy, has been part of Ho Chi Minh City's climbing scene since 2015. Its current gym in An Khanh (old District 2) was built with Ninja Wall Builder and uses holds from Flathold, Sup'R, Kastline and others.

Auto-belays are from Perfect Descent, and reviewers mention top-rope climbing and a MoonBoard. An adult day pass is 280,000 VND (250,000 VND under 18, 200,000 VND for Vietnamese university students). Full gear rental is 50,000 VND, or 30,000 VND for shoes, chalk or harness alone. Punch passes and memberships from 2,000,000 VND a month are also available.

The gym runs workshops for different ages and skill levels, school programmes and team-building events.

Weekend afternoons are busiest. First visit? Allow time for the safety briefing.
