Tanuki Bouldering is a street-level bouldering gym about five minutes' walk from To Kwa Wan MTR (Exit D). The roughly 500 m² space has slab, vertical and overhanging walls at several angles, and routes are reset every Monday. A MoonBoard with the 2024 hold set and an adjustable angle (including the 25° beginner and 40° benchmark settings) adds a training option.

Grades follow a seven-level colour spectrum; the first two grades have no foothold restrictions, which makes it easy for newcomers. There are toilets, changing rooms and day storage shelves, with overnight storage for monthly members. Beginner classes, kids' courses, private classes and group events can be booked via the website.

A good pick for beginners and board-training regulars in Kowloon City, To Kwa Wan and Hung Hom.

Weekend afternoons are busiest. First visit? Allow time for the safety briefing.
