Rope Climbing Gyms

Climb Go Where lists 39 rope climbing gyms, covering venues with top rope, lead or auto-belay walls. Many also have a bouldering area, so you can mix both in one visit. Camp5 in Malaysia, Climb Central in Singapore and Manila, Project Rock in Penang and JUST CLIMB Kai Tak in Hong Kong are among the larger operators.

Gyms with lead walls include Climb Central The Kallang, Ground Up Climbing and BFF Climb in Singapore, Camp5 1Utama and Camp5 Paradigm JB in Malaysia, Urban Playground Climbing in Bangkok, REBEL Rock Climbing in Phuket, Hong Kong Climbing Park in Sha Tin, Rock Island in Bali and T-UP Climbing Zhonghe in New Taipei. Auto-belay walls, found at fit · bloc and Outpost Climbing in Singapore, Clip 'n Climb Bali and others, let you climb on ropes without a partner.

Before you can belay a partner at most rope gyms, you will need to pass a belay test or take an induction course. If you have never belayed, book an intro class, which usually covers harness fitting, knots and belaying. Day passes start from around S$23 in Singapore, RM25 at Bolder Ventures in Subang Jaya and ฿350 at Rock Domain in Bangkok.
